illustrate God’s nature. After all, if he is the only true God, it is entirely consistent to say we should never worship others. To understand what God wants we need to know what God is like. To know what God is like we need to spend time with him, listening to what he says. This marks the difference between theology as a dry, cerebral pursuit (the sole object of which is clever and complicated statements) and theology as a living, breathing way of life. It is all about our relationship with God.
